Attendance
Students are expected to arrive to school on time. Our school bell rings at 8:40 a.m. and a student is tardy if they are not in their classroom by 8:53 a.m. Please call the school if your child will be absent or late and send a written excuse when he/she returns to school. If tardy, they need to go to the office for a late slip. If you need to pick your child up early for any reason or want to come into the school, it is necessary to check into the office first and obtain a pass. Prairie Ridge Recognizes perfect attendance on a monthly basis. Announcements will be over the PA on the last day of each month and all students with perfect attendance will receive attendance pencils or wrist bands! The Kalamazoo Promise Students at Prairie Ridge Elementary can receive paid college tuition through the Kalamazoo Promise, a nationally recognized innovative scholarship program. The Kalamazoo Promise helps our students achieve educational dreams, increases employability and intelligence, and energizes our community.
